The Asia-Pacific Space Education Center (APSEC) is responsible for promoting international cooperation in the peaceful uses of space education. The APSEC serves as the education institute for the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) with multilateral cooperation in the peaceful uses of space technology and application. The APSEC is sponsored by Beihang University . Some of the professors are from the institutes, academies and industries in China ; the others are from the APSCO. At present, the principal supporters are China National Space Administration and the secretariat of APSCO.
Currently,
The Program on Space Applications is implemented by APSEC
and works to improve the use of space technology and application
for the economic and social development of Asia-Pacific
nations, in particular developing countries. Under the Program,
the APSEC conducts Master program, training courses, workshops,
student internship, international camp, seminars and other
activities on applications and capacity building in subjects
such as remote sensing, communications, satellite meteorology
applications, space and atmosphere sciences, basic space
science, and space project management.
